Warnings: Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse. If you also use an asthma medicine that you inhale (such as albuterol, Atrovent®, Combivent®, or Serevent®), use it before you use zanamivir. Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or if you have heart disease, lung disease (such as asthma or COPD), or a history of seizures or mental illness. This medicine does not take the place of a yearly flu shot. It will not keep you from getting a bacterial infection that causes flu-like symptoms. This medicine may cause bronchospasm in people with lung disease (such as asthma or COPD). Stop using this medicine and call your doctor right away if you have trouble breathing, wheezing, or tightness in your chest after you use this medicine. This medicine may cause changes in behavior. Tell your doctor if you have trouble sleeping, get upset easily, or have any unusual thoughts or behaviors. Also tell your doctor if you feel nervous, angry, restless, violent, or scared. Do not use this medicine to treat other types of flu. Other people can still catch the flu from you even though you feel better while you use this medicine. Your doctor will check your progress and the effects of this medicine at regular visits. Keep all appointments.
